Using the website
Explore Worcestershire is designed to work across desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices.
Pages use consistent navigation, clear headings and responsive layouts so information remains understandable at different screen sizes.
You should be able to browse most of the website without needing to use a mouse.
Keyboard navigation
Interactive elements such as links, buttons and navigation controls are intended to be accessible using a keyboard.
The Tab key can normally be used to move forward through interactive elements, while Shift and Tab can be used to move backwards.
Enter or Space can be used to activate many buttons and controls depending on your browser.
Text size and zoom
The website uses responsive layouts so pages can adapt when text is enlarged or the browser is zoomed.
Most modern browsers allow you to increase the size of a webpage using Ctrl and + on Windows, or Command and + on macOS.
Browser accessibility settings may also allow you to change default text sizes, contrast and other display preferences.
Images and photography
Images that provide meaningful information are intended to include alternative text describing their content or purpose.
Some images are decorative and may intentionally have limited or empty alternative text where repeating the information would not add value for screen reader users.
Links and navigation
Navigation labels are designed to describe the page or destination they lead to.
Where a link opens an external website, the destination may have different accessibility standards from Explore Worcestershire.
Third party content
Some pages may contain services, images, maps, forms or other content supplied by third parties.
Explore Worcestershire may not have complete control over the accessibility of external services or websites.
Where possible, a direct link to the relevant organisation or service may be provided as an alternative way to access information.
Known limitations
Some older content, externally supplied material or third party services may not meet the same accessibility standard as newer areas of the website.
We aim to correct significant accessibility problems when they are identified and where changes are reasonably within our control.
